WSSC Approves BLUE-TEK Liners

Clarksburg, MD – The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), which is the 8th largest water and sewer utility in the nation, has approved the use of Blue-TekTM Liners.  WSSC serves nearly 1.8 million residents and approximately 460,000 customer accounts in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties over an area of nearly 1,000 square miles. They operate and maintain nearly 5,400 miles of sewer pipeline.
Blue-TekTM Liners are an Ultra Violet (UV) Cured in Place Pipe liner used to address pipes which are corroding or collapsing due to our country's aging infrastructure.  It is a trenchless technology which can save up to 60% over dig and replace alternatives – according to Tim Cook, Director of Construction, with Pleasants Construction.  Pleasants Construction, a Clarksburg, MD based company, is the certified installer for the Blue-TekTM Liner in MD, DC, VA and WV.
Tim Cook stated “We have been working extensively with WSSC for several years to obtain approval of this state of the art technology.  There has been over 10 million feet installed in over 27 countries since 1992.”  All of the Blue-TekTM Liners installed throughout North America are manufactured by Reline America, a Saltville, VA based company.
